Rated 5 out of 5 by Bury me in these boots I drive a rear load garbage truck and jump in and out 300-600 times a day 10 hours a day 6 days a week. These are the best boots for the job, lightweight, extremely comfortable, and durable. Used to destroy boots within 3-4 months. Wore this pair for 2 warm seasons and had them resoled instead of buying a new pair due to the fact they where in such good condition and broken in so well. Was extremely impressed with the quality of the repair! New sole is completely stiched all the way around and they even patched a few small areas on the inside of the boot that my toes wore out. Recently bought a pair of 1412 to wear during the winter months. Love both pairs of these US made boots and won't buy anything else! January 23, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Aaron21 I'm not one to boast about a product almost ever, however, my father night me a pair of these boots when I was a boy! They have held up through the years well, despite continuous usage! I have to say these are the highest quality boots that I have ever owned. December 7, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by I very durable boot Awesome boot! I do masonry work and wear these 12 hours plus per day. I wear them in all kinds of weather and unless it is really cold, I wear them year around. I did discover that I needed the tuff toe product to keep the toes from wearing out, but I am on my knees a lot. With care I am able to get 3 years plus out of a pair. They take a little breaking in, but once you do it they feel as comfortable as a pair of slippers. The store where I purchase them has me in there computer and I am even able to order them to be shipped. If you buy them during the sale time, the shipping ends up free with a coupon. Keep up the good work Redwing. October 17, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Fantastic boots for a hard working job At first the 608 boots are pretty close to impossible to wear until they get broke in. After break in they are just about as good as a pair of fluffy slippers. Water and a little bit of oil on a deck, I can still walk without much issue. The soles are incredibly soft yet resilient. Running is comparable to wearing a pair of running shoes. Soft impact and good rebound.I work as a tow truck operator and now boots are the last thing on my mind. They don't hurt anymore and they grip in just about any environment. Although they are warm in certain situations, they can get cold fast and your feet will know it. A good pair of socks should do for awhile but eventually they will get too cold. With that being said, worth the money for a good pair of boots that will last a long time. October 1, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best boot on the market. Period I'm on my second pair of Red Wings, since I decided to try them. I drive truck and you wouldn't think we're tough on boots but we are. I haul gas and diesel fuel and these boots take on anything I walk through without a hitch. I won't buy any other boot for work. I also use the same pair for riding my motorcycle. Heck even the laces last as long as the boots do. Got over 5 years out of my first pair. Bonus is they're made in the USA. I always recommend Red Wing products to anyone that asks, what kind of boots are those. April 20, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best boot on the planet! Life-long industrial construction worker here, (who is about to retire, BTW). I learned the hard way almost 30 years ago as an apprentice that the boots you wear to work every day will have a profound affect on your feet and body if you earn a living doing heavy construction. And you just can't beat these boots for comfort, safety, and durability on all surfaces in all conditions. I wear them year round. I just buy them a little big so I can put on thicker socks in Winter or just lace them good and tight with thin socks in the Summer. I have worn nothing but these for at least 20 years and my feet and body have held up extremely well under the circumstances. I get about a year out of a pair and there is no way to measure the complete abuse I put them through in those 12 months. That works out to pennies a day. I never oil them or anything either, but I can tell you that doing this occasionally will render them almost completely waterproof. When I retire I plan to purchase one more pair to last the rest of my life. Seriously. I do plan to wear them a lot less and to take extra good care of them though. February 10, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by 30 years as a land surveyor First boot to last over a year I am a big man 6-3 300# and some days I put over 5 miles on them. I bought the recommended boot treatment used as directed and my feet have only been wet twice. I work in all conditions from mud to hot asphalt to snow (120+ inches last year) in town, farm fields, gravel pits. Has just enough tread for traction and not bring a yard of dirt in the house. My back is better saved the cost in doctor visits. Best boot ever think I will be buried in them December 18, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by This boot use to be a great value My husband is a die-hard supporter of Red Wings until recently. The quality decreased while the price. Increased. He is a construction worker and truck driver always on his feet. He bought Red Wings for comfort, durability and because they were made in the USA. The last two pair of boots lasted 4 months before the sole started to separate on both at different points. He may as well buy cheap boots if they are not going to last more then 4 months. At the price he paid of $178.00 he could buy approximately 4 pair. December 8, 2014
