Rated 5 out of 5 by I don't have these boots however I have 2 pairs of the better version of these boots (with safety toe and rubber bottom sole) I have 3 pairs of redwing boots I love all of them!!! I just wish they wouldn't have discontinued the safety work version of them. I'm a welder/fabricator and the first pair of these I bought 4+ years ago I have had them resoled once and about to again!! I still wear them almost everyday. They cost $150 when I bought both of these boots but I would pay $200+ for them. January 14, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great boot I have worn a pair for 20 years, then wore them out as the upper leather deteriorated. My size was 11B because I have a narrow foot. Try as I might, could never find a store that carried the 866 in narrow widths. I finally ordered a pair from a local Red Wing dealer in Klamath Falls, OR.After being without my 866s for 15 years, I can still say the are the BEST WELLINGTON THAT YOU WILL EVER BUY! Very comfortable for knocking around the house as well as any outdoor use. I am now retired, so I can't speak to the work environment. December 17, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Rugged boots to follow me around Vermont I have a lot of leather boots. Two pairs Redwing.Break in is typical for any quality leather boot. I wore these a few days a week, took a month.I have so far, driven my Harley, chased deer (in Vermont), painted, sanded my house floors etc, I have worn them as slipper to run out to my truck real quick. Great boots. Im critical, and for me, I have no issues. The soles are great, there alright traversing the leafy woods of VT...if I see a buck to chase....not my typical hunting boot...but they've helped stalk quickly and quietly if the situation arises.I'd buy these again..they work for the do everything for Jake boot. Rated 5 out of 5 by Best pair of boots. I have a pair that is over 15 years old. They need a few new stiches here and there but are still in good shape. I work in these daily, walking a average of 10 miles in a day. Boots feel better everyday! Thank you Red Wing September 13, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by for over 35 years I have worn this model of boot my entire career. I usually buy a new pair every other year and have an old pair re-soled every year. I have had four or five pair in wearing condition at all times and am able to wear a different pair every day.As a nurseryman my boots must walk miles a day with me over concrete, asphalt, loose gravel, mud, and all manner of surfaces. As a businessman I must be able to have a professional appearance at all times.A cleaning and oiling makes these boots shine up look great.I am a bit of a fanatic about my boots and my feet are very happy about that!Phoenix, AZ June 30, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Buy a pair, you wont be dissapointed I'm a farmer and have worn these boots every day since I purchased them 10 months ago. I do oil the boots frequently and just finished my first 8oz bottle of boot oil. I couldn't be happier with the comfort and quality of materials and manufacture. The leather is great. As other reviews noted it does take a while for the boots to be broken in but it is worth the wait. Also this model is still made in the USA! I'm going to get another pair of Red Wing's, this time I want the Model 2970 engineer with the same creep sole. May 14, 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by Great Boot, Terrible Arch Support I moved up North and being from the South pull-ons are customary. Couldnt find any other boots besides Redwings. The leather is beautiful on these and very durable. The sole is soft and the insole forms to your foot very well. BEWARE - these particular boots are extremely narrow through the arch part of your foot, and have very little arch support. if you are like me and need a lot of arch support stay away from this model. I wish I had of went with my insticts and got my money back rather than getting a wider pair. Arch support is poor at best. March 27, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Found new old stock Having narrow feet can sometimes be lucky. I found two pair of these boots made in 1993. The boxes were covered in dust. The ones I found were the old red color. I LOVE THESE BOOTS. Been wearing one pair everyday for two years now. The beauty of this boot is my feet do not sweat in these.Takes a whole to break them in, but worth itBuy pair that fits and they will be your favorites. June 18, 2014
