Rated 5 out of 5 by Mike789 Highly recommended! I absolutely love these boots. Once you get past the initial "breaking in" stage (that exists with any new boots) theses are probably the most comfortable boots I've ever owned. I love the metal lace up system too. I can take them off in a flash, and I've never owned another pair that I can tighten with one hand. If I had to find something I would change about them, I might consider making the ratcheting mechanism a bit quicker so that it takes fewer turns to get them fully tightened, but I'm really nitpicking. Great pair of work boots! September 18, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by bman78 Amazing The BOA lace system is Great. I work with ladders all day and i never have to worry about laces getting loose or stuck in rungs of the ladder.when it comes to comfort i noticed i would keep my boots on long after the work day was completed. i am very pleased with these boots and plan on purchasing a pair of sneakers in the future. Rated 5 out of 5 by SteveH Great boots Using the Red Wing 30-day comfort guarantee, I traded in a different pair of pull-on boots for a set of these. The custom fit of the lace system makes these a great boot to wear everyday. If you have a hard to fit foot like I do, these are a great boot to look at. July 17, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by TheDarkside Really dig that Red Wing started using the BOA system I've been wearing Red Wings for the last 8 years since I started working in the power industry at a geothermal facility. I'm on my feet and in boots for 12 hours a day 7 days a week (84 hour bi-weekly shifts). It's important to me that a boot be comfortable right out of the box with minimal break-in time, have a secure ankle hold, and be able to withstand an incredible amount of abuse. My boots go through a daily regimen of: standing on 400°F steam lines, soaked in puddles and immediately trudge in ankle deep desert sand, chemical exposure from acids to caustics, and yearly temperature fluctuations ranging from 10°F to 120°F.(I can not stress enough how imperative it is that a high quality boot be comfortable straight out of the box. The amount of hoof time that is called for in the power industry does not allow weeks on end for discomfort due to a poorly fitted boot. Before purchasing anything that's going to be attached to you for the next few years, day in and day out, make sure that you get professionally sized and fitted and find a "last" that you are happy with.)If I properly care for my boots with a weekly clean/condition/oil they can last a little over 2 years before the sole is gone and halfway separated from the upper. Other companies don't even get me a year of use before I need a replacement. Red Wing boots are always comfortable, just make sure you find a "last" that suits your foot and generally it will always feel spot on in any other style boot.I'm very familiar with the BOA system. I've had snowboard boots with it for over the last 6 years and I only exclusively use this lace system over the traditional. You can get them infinitely tighter than by hand and it's so much quicker for you workers out there who constantly have to take your boots on and off. The only problems I've encountered with them (on boarding boots) is the eyelets will snap off before the laces themselves give way.I have only had these boots for a few months now and so far they seem to be what I was looking for. I wish they would have used a higher quality leather as this stuff just feels like suede and every bit of dirt and grime sticks to it like a magnet as opposed to my older 2246's. I'll comment back once I've had a while longer to evaluate their performance and longevity but so far I am not disappointed and they are definitely worth the buy. May 23, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by KOkid Very good boots I'm a land surveyor so I'm on my feet all day and these boots are comfortable and whether I'm standing in one spot for hrs or trekking for hrs, in the city or swampland at the end of the day my feet aren't killing me. March 17, 2014
