The Boots Are Too Good
I would like to make a complaint about your boots.
Having bought a pair over 6 years ago I found them to be the most comfortable
boots I have ever worn.
After wearing them almost daily for the first couple of years I decided I would
like to have a second pair for work. I mentioned this to my wife but she
thought that because they were a little bit expensive that I should continue to
wear my existing pair until they started to wear out and then I could use them
for work and buy a new pair for good.
Well this is where my complaint lies. After 6 years of misuse and abuse of my
boots they still don’t look even close to being worn out so I am still no
closer to getting another pair.
Prior to owning a pair of Redwings I was lucky if a pair of boots would last me
a year, which just goes to prove that quality is well worth paying for.
Thanks for making a great pair of quality boots (which will hopefully wear out
one day so I will be allowed to buy another pair).

I just wanted to thank you for making such an outstanding boot. I have a pair of
red wing boots with the electrical hazard soles on them. I was changing a
current transducer on a chiller, and when I removed a 480 volt 3 phase line it
jumped to the second phase and caused an explosion. It welded the allen wrench
to the wire and melted the aluminum lugs that the 2/0 wire was fastened to
before the breaker had time to trip. Thanks to I believe the boots I was
wearing I never got electricuted and had no injuries to myself from the
electricity.
I am a firm believer in red wings due to the fact that I can wear them for 10
hours straight walking on concrete, and my feet never get tired, as well as the
durability of the boot. I am now a firm believer in the electrical hazard soles
and thanks to them they saved my life. The other guys working with me told me
afterward that they were going to go buy red wings also.

I am writing to you to let you know that my husband was in an accident at work
two weeks ago and is recovering from the terrible accident. A co-worker was
driving a forklift, did not see my husband and ran over his toes first, then
knocked him down and ran over the back of his heel and ankle. The doctor told
him it was a miracle that it didn't shatter his foot or ankle. We told him that
if it wasn't for his Red Wing Steel-toe work boot, his foot would not be the
same anymore. I just wanted to thank you for the toughest workboot in the
world. And you'd better believe we will keep buying the same workboot!

Boots
Dear Red Wing Shoe,
I attend Maine Maritime Academy and have been doing a lot of work in the engine
room. I bought a pair of steel toe high tops in the campus bookstore. For
months, they had been giving me blisters, and every time I put them on I
groaned. Then, about a month ago, I was at the Good Will when I found a pair of
steel toe boots for five dollars. I thought I had scored... a week later, I had
blisters on my feet in a new spot. So I asked my dad for Red Wing steel toe
work boots for my birthday.
I was very excited about getting my new boots. A friend recommended the
Winterport Boot Shop to me and I caught a ride to Brewer to pick out my new
boots. Your shop made my boot buying experience so much fun! I got to use the
nifty foot sizer and they gave me brand new Red Wing socks (which are a lot
more cushier than most socks.) Also, they have the coolest register in the
state of Maine. The man who waited on me knew exactly what all my questions
were before I asked them. My boots fit me like a glove and I feel so cool
wearing them! You shop get a two-thumbs-up for customer service. It's nice to
know that old fashioned service exists today.
Thanks a bunch. If I ever need a new pair, I'll be back. Hopefully, that won't
happen though!

Dear Red Wing Shoe,
Hello! I have a great story for you. My husband is a commercial plumber, due to
the nature of his job and being on his feet all day we buy Red Wing steel toe
boots for him because they are the best on the market. A few weeks ago my
husband got home from work and decided to mow the lawn, he usually mows the
lawn in his sneakers but today he kept his work clothes on and was wearing his
Red Wing boots. Well, he put the mower into neutral (with the blade still
spinning) and he proceeded to wipe the grass off of the top of the mower when
the vibration of the motor kicked the mower into gear and the mower ran over
his foot! He did not suffer a scratch! It is because he was wearing his Red
Wing steel toe boots that he still has a foot! I mean this from the bottom of
my heart, we are forever indebted to Red Wing for making such a high quality
product that could withstand the blade of a mower with a 5 foot deck! Whenever
I tell this story I always tell people he was wearing Red Wing boots and that
is what saved his foot. Needless to say we had to go out the next day and buy
another pair but we don't mind spending the money for such a well made, quality
product.

Tuesday I fell off a wall ladder, I fell over 10 feet, before my foot smashed
into a lower rail. The fall broke my foot, but if it had not been for my Red
Wings, it would have broken most of the bones in my foot. I just wanted to

Dear Red Wing Shoe,
I bought my first pair of steel toe Red Wings 6 1/2 years ago. I quit shopping
for boots four years ago. I just call up my Red Wing Shoe Store and ask if my
size is in stock. They look it up on their card and usually they are in stock.
I just drop in the next day and pick them up. I can never remember the size or
style so I like them keeping track. They are friendly and helpful and keep me
coming back. Your steel toe boots are very comfortable and with my foot 9EEE
there just isn't any need to look around. Thanks.

Dear Red Wing Shoe,
I am writing this letter to let you know how much I enjoy wearing Red Wing
Boots. They are the best boots I have ever owned. Working for the Mass Transit
System in Pittsburgh means I am on my feet all day. Wearing Red Wing Shoes

My wife and I are both construction professionals. I manage a construction

I wanted to personally thank you and your company for the quality boot you
manufacture.
July 1998 I had an outrigger put down on my right foot. The truck is an Altec
boom-tip digger derric and its weight is approximately 38,000 pounds. Although
the steel toed Red Wing boot is ruined, I only suffered three fractured toes. I
am sure my injuries would have been much worse, if I would not have been
wearing the Red Wing steel-toed lace-up boot.

Dear Red Wing Shoe,
I am taking the time to write your company to share with you, the corporation
and its' workers my thanks for your wonderful boot that I believe was
instrumental in lessening my injuries in a motorcycle accident.
November 1997 I was finally persuaded after several years to purchase one of
your products, I chose style 699 a black boot that I felt would serve most of
my daily needs. I have worn boots exclusively since leaving the service in
1970. Your product did meet all the praise that my friends heaped upon it and,
I certainly did keep them on my feet at all times just like my friends said I
would. April 1998 I was hit while riding my motorcycle, the car came out of a
blind alley and smashed into my right ankle, (note, the car hit me, not my
bike). The injuries sustained were two transverse ankle fractures plus multiple
traumas to the surrounding area. What amazed me was my boot did not show any
damage, not even scuff marks. The stitching held together and I do believe
because of the fine workmanship of the "699" my injuries were not as critical
and which made for a more speedy recovery. Since the accident, I have resumed
work, riding my motorcycle and wearing my Red Wing Boots. I still have some
loss of motion in my lower leg, which will remain permanent, but your boots
have helped me stand, walk and feel as comfortable as I can. I will be
purchasing an additional pair of 699's from my dealer in Seekonk, MA. Thank
You, and your work staff for a fine product that I feel saved my foot and
allowed me to return to my first love, motorcycling.

Dear Red Wing Shoe,
Debbie, a Red Wing Shoe Store manager, writes in with a testimonial from a
customer: In the beginning of December Dave, a local fire chief, bought a pair
of 8621's. Little did he know at the time what an important role these shoes
would play. A month later he came into my store and he was wearing his 8621's
but they were missing shoelaces. I was in disbelief that anyone could go
through a pair of Red Wing laces in just a month. He told me that the night
before he got an emergency call. A woman was delivering a baby in a parking lot
of a closed restaurant. Unfortunately, he didn't have his OB Kit, so he used
his Red Wing shoelaces to tie off the umbilical cord. I've always thought laces
were an important part of our shoes, but who would have thought they would
serve such an important purpose. Thanks to Dave and his Red Wing Shoelaces all
are doing fine.
