Rated 5 out of 5 by ChrisG Best boots I've owned I've owned these boots for almost 4 years. Before making the jump to Redwing, boots would only last me about 6 months. So much for saving money on $50 boots!I am a mechanic and over the years these boots have been exposed to a large variety of chemicals, oils and fuels, impacts, scrapes, cuts, etc. I spend 80% of the time on concrete, climbing on and off construction equipment and trucks. The rest of the time is in the field, exposed to all the weather Colorado can throw at me. They have proven incredibly durable despite my complete lack of maintenance on them. The only thing I had done is an anti-wear coating (essentially Rhino-lining I'm told) to the toe.I've had knee and back problems for most of my life, but when I bought these most of my pain went away within a month! They are finally starting to crack and I can feel the wear in my knees, but I could not have asked for a better pair of boots.I will be purchasing my next set of Redwing Boots soon, and maybe with regular maintenance they'll last even longer! Rated 5 out of 5 by Geezer The first pair only lasted 9 years I bought my first pair of these boots in October of 2002. They were the most comfortable thing I had ever worn and I wore them nearly 7 days a week for much of the time.I have worn them literally from Maine to Florida, out to California, in heat and in cold. Heck, I even used them for snow boots in more than a few blizzards and even though the outer leather was soaked, my feet stayed dry.I had them resoled by the factory one time with new insoles and strings.I bought another pair while the resoling was done but they were not the right size since I should have gone a half size longer and wider for the steel toes, but I am going to buy another pair tomorrow. These have to be the best work boots on the market....and made here in the USA. by SlackAdjuster Stands up to the tough stuff... I have had these boots for about 8 months now and they are living up to the Red Wing reputation. I work in diesel/heavy vehicle road service, inspection and roadside recovery, and am on my feet off and on for the better part of 12 hours a day. These boots have seen diesel fuel, motor oil, coolant, hydraulic fluid you name it; if it comes out of a car or truck, I'm stepping in it. That and a little situation with a pallet jack which reminded me that getting steel toed boots was a necessity. It didn't take long before these boots were viewed not as a article of clothing, but as a tool needed to successfully and safely do my job. Needless to say I am pleased, not only with the service my boots have given me, but also with the services my local red wing store has given me (Cherry Hill NJ store). Three complimentary sets of laces and a few leather conditionings later and I'm looking at the 2416 model to share the work load for the up coming winter (they are insulated, water proof, and 8" tall).

Rated 5 out of 5 by tpende Best work boot I've ever worn. I've had them for 2.5 years and they are still in great shape. I'm standing on concrete for 90% of my day. If you don't think the quality of your boot matters, then you need to go back and finish your Computer Science degree. I've tried just about every brand and style of boot on the market. There are many good ones, but these are the best.Travis PendergrassMinneapolis, MN April 22, 2014
