I have odd feet and have a really tough time finding shoes, and usually deal with the pain of ill fitting boots while working. I do a lot of trail work in the woods with a volunteer group(chainsawing, moving rocks, machine operation, etc.) so steel toes are necessary. These were the first non-metallic toe shoes I have owned and I am really pleased. Thank you to the salesman who suggested that I try on a size that was far of from what I usually wear. I can work on the trails for 10 -12 hours straight and my feet feel great. Additionally, all my friends with steel toes are complaining of cold toes an hour or two into the day during the winter, but mine are toasty. I have been using these for 5 years now and they are holding up superbly well. I do wish that the tread was more aggressive though. I find myself paying close attention to footing more often than I would like. Will probably go with the 4415 when these give up the ghost as they have a more aggressive sole. Although that may not be for quite a while..... January 3, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Crm123 Good fit I loved these boots the broke in well and were very comfy but they wore out kinda fast for me they only lasted about 12 monthes and than began to leak and I work in a wet area and it's cold in the north so not a good combo but other than that they were great December 1, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Boomer Great Boot These are great boots and last well. They break in quickly and fit like a glove. I have purchased other Red Wing, Wolverine, Keen, and Irish Setter safety boots as well but these are by far my favorite. Now that I have tried a few other boots I know these are the best and I will continue to buy this model from here on out. November 7, 2014

I walk on concrete and metal stairs all day in a chemical plant. Waterproof boots are important to me as I handle many different chemicals. I have had other brands of boots that eventually leaked, but these never did even walking through water. My feet got hot in the warmer weather so I switched to the 2280 without insulation. They were just as dependable, but less hot in the warmer weather. I do tons of walking every day at work and the soles are barely worn. A great long lasting boot for me. The insoles are a little too soft/squishy for my taste so I replace them with the Redbed insoles. That works out well for me. A lot of boots make you feel like your walking downhill because of the heel being too high. That's not a problem as these seem to keep my feet more level which is easier on the feet. I highly recommend these boots if you work in conditions similar to mine. September 18, 2014
