Rated 5 out of 5 by Peck76 Great boot It took a few months to break these in, but I've owned my boots for 5 years now and have only had to replace the soles on them. Very comfortable and well worth the price. October 16, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by EaglefordFloorhand Cheap Made not real red wings no more this are PECOS I work 14 days on 14 days off that's 6 months 12 hrs a day and been using Red Wings long enough to notice that this "RedWings" Pecos are not lasting for the price over 200 dlls it a joke the sole doesn't last and you'll get water inside after 6 months (3 months actually) I wish a Red Wing CEO looks at my review and do something with the quality department and start buying better quality materials. Rated 5 out of 5 by Diamndranchch44 Good All Around Work Boot This boot is a great boot. I have owned my pair for three years now and they are still running strong. I wear them every day on the ranch and they haven't let me down. I love them because they are super comfortable and robust bust at the same time I ride my horses in them as well. It is very hard to find a good boot that can work as hard as these can and still be able to fit in a stirrup. They are water proof as well I wear them all four seasons. I treat them with obenhaufs LP and it is some of the best leather care product you can buy. It has kept the leather soft and supple and water tight. All in all this is a great boot. Rated 5 out of 5 by Armyjim Lasted longer than expected I bought these boots to replace some less expensive ones that I had worn out in the oilfield. I know from experience that most boots last about 6 months before they fall apart. These made it a while past that. I actually got a year and a half out oc them. The break in was a bit tough (took about a week of wearing them), but once they got there, I loved them. Hate to let them go, but the sides finally blew out. The salesman who sold them to me said I wouldn't be satisfied with other boots. He was right. August 30, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Greenrover The 2231 is an oldie but a goodie This model has been around for decades. Other models have come and gone, but the 2231 stands the test of time. This boot does not have a removable insole like other models, but I have found that the 2231 fits better and appears to be slightly lighter than the pull ons requiring the insole. For me, the rounded toe of the 2231 is very comfortable, and the steel toe cap does not pinch the toes. The mini lug sole provides just enough grip on all surfaces, and ensures solid footing for safety.I remember buying my first pair of Red Wing boots back in 1987 at the age of 19, and I spent a whole week's pay check at my landscaping job on a pair of 1104's with that beautiful Oro Russet leather. I thought I was crazy spending so much on a pair of work boots, but I got tired of wearing out Kmart boots every three months, that were so uncomfortable. It was the best investment in footwear I have ever made, and I have been wearing Redwing shoes proudly ever since.Working for an electric utlity requires rugged footwear, and these 2231's certainly fit the bill.
