Rated 5 out of 5 by Comfortable boots with outstanding long term value. I bought these a little over there years ago. I needed new work boots for my job in the Oilfield and went with these because they were American made. Over time, these boots proved themselves to be safe, with no ankle injuries from the uneven surfaces I walk on and sturdy with the climbing and jumping I do during my workday. (Other boots gave me a few sprains because they just never had the support.)The waterproofing lasted longer than any other boots I've had. The soles held up very well, but started cracking and allowing water to seep in. This was what led me to purchase the exact same boot as a replacement. The value in these boots goes far beyond out-of-the-box comfort. It is the safety of predictable traction and proper ankle support, combined with long-term durability that counts for the value. For those reasons, the 2230 can't be beat. Thanks, Red Wing, for building a great boot and for building it in the United States! December 30, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Awesome boots These are my first pair of Red Wing boots and I will definitaly buy another pair when ever these need replacing. I have had these for about 5 months and they have held up better than many other boots I've used. They are comfortable once broken in which didn't take very long. I work inside mostly and they do not get too hot. Havent tested them in the winter yet but I have faith in them. October 29, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Just buy them. Seriously. I just bought my second pair of these boots, the first pair lasted almost seven years. I'm in heavy residential/ light commercial remodeling and new construction, so seven years is a very, very long life for footwear. A couple of weeks after I bought the first pair I began to notice that my back and knees didn't hurt much anymore, probably due to the diligent work of my local red wing sales woman. She brought out six pair of the same boot in different width/length measurements and had me walk around a while. I've never had a more comfortable pair of boots... No, I never knew what a comfortable pair of boots was! You really can't go wrong. So I bought my second pair. Exactly like the first, except this time I bought a belt and a wallet. September 3, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great boots They are great boots they fit good feel good but the insoles have worn out and I need to find the stock ones I do plan on resouling these good ole boots April 6, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Warm and dry I have had these boots for about three years and they are the best pair of work boots I have ever had. I have done nothing to maintain these boots for three years in the oilfield except spray them off with a power washer and replace the in-soles and the are still comfortable, waterproof and structurally sound. Rated 5 out of 5 by Comfortable, durable Great boots! I liked this boot so much that I bought another pair a year later. The second pair fit more snug than the first pair but was still comfortable. I do a lot of walking on cement/asphalt and the only part of the boot that wore out were the heels and soles. I had my older pair re-heeled and re-soled at my local Red Wing store and will have the same done to the newer pair eventually. These boots are not cheap. Luckily, my company subsidizes our purchases, otherwise I couldn't afford it. If you want cheap, go to Sears or Walmart. For quality, durability, and service you can't beat Red Wing. June 1, 2014
