Rated 1 out of 5 by I love Red Wings, but... I have worn Red Wings for the better part of 25 years. I have NEVER had a problem with any of those boots until today. When these Oxfords arrived, I was enthusiastic. After walking in these shoes for 15 minutes, I was ready to throw them into the trash. They look like they were / are comfortable, and are quality built. BUT, the collar of the boot is SHARP, is NOT padded, and needs time to be broken in. I don't know how it is possible to break them in, since I only wore the boots for 15 minutes and couldn't walk anymore. I developed blisters on both of my ankles just that quick... :( I know you may think that I didn't have them snug, or they were too loose, or I wasn't wearing them properly. Believe me for I was wearing them properly. I am amazed that there wasn't any padding around the collar, or at least a "softer" leather used in that critical spot where a lot of friction can occur. The sad part of the whole situation is that my local Red Wing store doesn't have a large selection and I had to wait two weeks for these to arrive. Now I have to take these back and start the process all over again.I will still recommend Red Wings to everyone I know. Just be aware of the condition of the collar on this style. February 1, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great box toe shape These are the only Met/Steel toe shoes in an oxford style that I can find with a box toe configuration. These shoes are comfortable and are great when I am required to do 10-12 hrs a day. May 21, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Comfy shoe. I work as a cutter at a steel processing plant. These shoes are more comfortable than my tennis shoes. The only things I can see to make them better are to add the boa laces, and a heat resistant sole, mine lasted a year and a half, which is good considering the hot slag I am always stepping on. I just ordered another pair. May 13, 2014
