Rated 5 out of 5 by Anything worthwhile should have a good foundation. If you're on the fence about buying these boots go for it! I purchased mine from a Red Wing retail outlet about two years ago and they are still going strong. The sales clerk measures my feet and had me try on a few different sizes and styles. The quality and style of these boots stood out. After a short break-in ( a week or so) they were good to go. I'm on my feet 12+ hours a day for weeks on end working turnarounds across multiple surfaces and these boots get the job done. I've read some other reviews complaining about fitment or weak stitching, but I've never had those problems with any pair of RWs. Work boots (even great ones) can and do wear out but I know for fact RW will be more than happy to rebuild them bad boys for you, but that shouldn't be for years to come. Hope this helps. Cheers! Rated 5 out of 5 by My first boots First pair of boots since I was a child and I just love these boots. I have no other boots to compare them to but they are so comfortable to wear. I originally wanted a pair of pull on's but was having trouble finding a suitable fit and needed a pair of boots immediately and couldn't wait to place an order on an appropriate size. After giving it some thought, laces were the best thing I could go with because I could adjust according to my foot. It's been two months since my purchase and I don't regret my decision. I think they still got a little more breaking in to do but they can only get better. The leather on lower scuffs pretty easily but I personally don't care for that all that much as I think it adds character. All in all I am very happy with my purchase. Would recommend. Rated 1 out of 5 by Horrible boots I am a 45yr old crane operator and have had red wing boots since I was 20 yrs old. I have always chose the pecos pull on boots and they have served me well. I know you aren't going to purchase a pair of red wings and work a 10hr day in them the next day, you do have to work at breaking them in sometimes for weeks. The 1102 8" are the worst boot I have ever owned. Impossible to break the heel in the way someone decided to put stitching on the inside so it tears your heel up. I tried everything under the sun searched the internet for ideas. I will NEVER buy another pair of these boots and don't recommend anyone else waisting 229 bucks on these September 29, 2014
