Rated 5 out of 5 by anakin2178 Best boot investment for my feet! I work in Law Enforcement / Corrections and have been working in the field for 11 years now. I got tired of buying and wearing other plastic/rubber brand boots that are in the police catalogs. They always fell apart and never offered more than a years worth of life. I went into a Red Wing store here in Virginia and bought the Red Wing 6690 boots. My ankle and foot pain went away that I previously encountered with other boots. I have had my 6690 boots for 3 years now and are still in very good condition. Best investment I have made for my job, and for having great foot protection. September 1, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Joemar4 You get what you pay for Being a big guy who is on my feet all day, its not easy finding the perfect boot. I've tried all kinds, always trying to save a few bucks. Finally I said that's it. I'm on my feet all day, if I'm going to invest in anything, let it be a good pair of boots. Well, I've found my perfect boot with these. Great fit, extremely comfortable and very well made! Finally, I can make it through the day without my feet screaming and aching. These boots were well worth every penny I paid for them. I also learned not to compromise or go the cheap route when it comes to your feet and more so, your comfort! I walk on hard concrete and uneven surfaces. These boots handle both with no problem. I highly recommend them! March 17, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by TomN Much improved Bought an identical pair two years ago. They have been excellent but the nylon web lace eyes are starting to break. I just bought a new set of 6690 and these have a metal eye which looks much more durable. They hold up well, provide great support, stay dry and don't feel overly hot or cold throughout the year. Rated 5 out of 5 by Gerg Best things I've ever put on my feet! Up and down stairs and ladders. Our generators and chillers are outside in gravel. I visit up north walk in the snow. My motorcycle is my daily driver all year round in AZ and in the winter time its 40 degrees out when i come into work. These boots have been the most comfortable warmest best traction boots I've ever had. Even in the summer time my feet don't over heat. For the bast 2 1/2 years these have been my work and everyday foot wear and if i need another pair of boots i will be getting the same boot but there's a lot left in my current pair. On my feet all day everyday and i don't come home sore. These boots are ready for more. The break in period last about 2 week and it was kinda rough but after that the boots are good to go. Rated 5 out of 5 by Techace Worth the Money I have had these boot for 3 years now. I work in a warehouse on concrete floors up and down off the floor and these boots dont bind when you are squating. The soles are barely worn. That was my main concern was the life of the sole as with other models of Redwings I have had to have them resoled. The only wear I have on them is the rubber toe cover. It seperates from the shoe because I do alot of kneeling. The outside of the boot takes alot of hits but has never cut or split. I will be buying another pair but this pair will last as my home work boots forever. WELL WORTH THE MONEY!!! September 25, 2014

Rated 4 out of 5 by Kilroy Great boot Outstanding boot. It is a bit pricey but you do get what you pay for. I never give anything a perfect score. If your using this for a hiking boot go without the steel toe. It makes the boot a tad heavy. If you have wide feet u will need to have the store stretch the front section out a bit because the outside toe area angles inward to give it a more athletic look. It is a nice looking boot. People ask me where I bought it frequently. June 10, 2014
