Rated 5 out of 5 by Hands Down the Best Red Wing Boot Being a guy that has worn Red Wings for the past 20 years and owning a number of pairs, I decided to invest in a pair of 963s. Believe me when I say that you get what you pay for. Although I work as an administrator I work in conditions where there is mud, gravel, dirt and concrete. These boots have work well on all of these surfaces. I am not on my feet 8+hours a day like most Red Wing wearers, but when I find myself heading into situations where I know I am going to be walking of standing all day these are my boots of choice. What I like about these boots is that they were comfy from the first hour of wearing them. The leather is great and the look and feel lets you know you have premium material. At first it was a stiff but after wearing them a bit they softened up nicely. There was no weird hot spots on my foot and I didn't get any blisters. The inside was cushioned and supportive and my feet felt secured. After about 3 months I decided the replace the insole with a Red Wing Revolution insole and it just fit right in. This isn't necessary, but I really like the way this insole feels with all my Red Wing boots. I have gone on vacation and these were the only footwear that I have taken. They are easy to clean, and a little bit of boot oil will cover up the minor scrapes, I like the conditioner. Then again, these are Red Wings, they just don't look right unless they have a little scuff, dirt, or grease on them. July 22, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by My third pair ! The Red Wing 963 is a great, COMFORTABLE, long lasting boot. These things have a good firm tread on the sole, plus a wonderful insole. It absorbs shock and the discomfort of walking on rock and gravel. You will go home afterwork, a lot less tired, with these boots.I had a pair of Cabelas hunting boots… nice and light, yes but it was like walking [ over 3/4'' rock ] in bedroom slippers. Aching feet gives you a bad attitude. The Mercedes like firmness of the Red Wings is a good feeling.A little on the costly side, going in, but if you figure cost per day, [ plus the comfort ] they are very low cost !Thank You, Red Wing April 15, 2014
