Rated 5 out of 5 by great boot This boot fits and wears great. I've owned them for about a year and have no complaints. I am ordering my second pair from my local store now because my good shoes are shot. The old ones are still wearing strong. November 24, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Decent boot for the price, stitching and sole quality par at best To start I have owned these boots for about a year now. Bought them new, work requirement (but I would only buy boots anyway), comfy fit, steel toe caused no issues (a big thing for my odd sizes feet), decent traction from the sole, I like the 8" ankle support. The leather is pretty decent, too (for being imported.) Three things that didn't impress me. The original laces were shot after a few weeks, went into the store and got another set for no charge, those laces have lasted since. Next, the soles wore thin after a few months. They don't see a lot of abrasive surface but still seemed somewhat pre-mature for my line of work (mostly concrete/asphalt). Once the sole is worn, traction is gone. The worst thing was the stitching on the heel to the ankle support on the left boot. Had these guys for 2-3 weeks, was redoing the asphalt roof on my garage (5/12 slope, pretty shallow!) and the seam split wide open around the back of the ankle at the top of the heel leather. I didn't bother taking them back because to be honest, the extra flex available to kneel with my left foot was actually welcome, I just had to think ahead about not getting into anything too deep with my left boot. All in all, aside from the seam splitting these are very comfortable, I wear them every day, all day, from when I wake up until I hop into bed, I ride, I walk, I drive, some roofing, hiking, winter weather, rain and sand, automotive. If you decide on these boots, keep an eye on the stitching and the sole wear and you should be ok.I will be trying another model though, likely the 2048 or the like unless this same model is on super sale!
