Rated 5 out of 5 by Best boot on the market. Period I'm on my second pair of Red Wings, since I decided to try them. I drive truck and you wouldn't think we're tough on boots but we are. I haul gas and diesel fuel and these boots take on anything I walk through without a hitch. I won't buy any other boot for work. I also use the same pair for riding my motorcycle. Heck even the laces last as long as the boots do. Got over 5 years out of my first pair. Bonus is they're made in the USA. I always recommend Red Wing products to anyone that asks, what kind of boots are those. April 20, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best boot on the planet! Life-long industrial construction worker here, (who is about to retire, BTW). I learned the hard way almost 30 years ago as an apprentice that the boots you wear to work every day will have a profound affect on your feet and body if you earn a living doing heavy construction. And you just can't beat these boots for comfort, safety, and durability on all surfaces in all conditions. I wear them year round. I just buy them a little big so I can put on thicker socks in Winter or just lace them good and tight with thin socks in the Summer. I have worn nothing but these for at least 20 years and my feet and body have held up extremely well under the circumstances. I get about a year out of a pair and there is no way to measure the complete abuse I put them through in those 12 months. That works out to pennies a day. I never oil them or anything either, but I can tell you that doing this occasionally will render them almost completely waterproof. When I retire I plan to purchase one more pair to last the rest of my life. Seriously. I do plan to wear them a lot less and to take extra good care of them though. February 10, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by 30 years as a land surveyor First boot to last over a year I am a big man 6-3 300# and some days I put over 5 miles on them. I bought the recommended boot treatment used as directed and my feet have only been wet twice. I work in all conditions from mud to hot asphalt to snow (120+ inches last year) in town, farm fields, gravel pits. Has just enough tread for traction and not bring a yard of dirt in the house. My back is better saved the cost in doctor visits. Best boot ever think I will be buried in them December 18, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by This boot use to be a great value My husband is a die-hard supporter of Red Wings until recently. The quality decreased while the price. Increased. He is a construction worker and truck driver always on his feet. He bought Red Wings for comfort, durability and because they were made in the USA. The last two pair of boots lasted 4 months before the sole started to separate on both at different points. He may as well buy cheap boots if they are not going to last more then 4 months. At the price he paid of $178.00 he could buy approximately 4 pair. December 8, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Good stuff!! Love these boots! I've wore these boots every day for just over two years and they have held up great. I used to work maintenance at a resort and marina, and my feet always ended up in the lake at some point in the day. After years of wet/dry activity and abuse and now construction abuse the soles are starting to come apart at the tip of the boot. Hard working boots for hard working men! Would highly recommend. Rated 5 out of 5 by The best work boot I've worn. Last longer than I thought possible. These are an excellent work boot for those who work on hard cement as well as other random surfaces and need something that is water-resistant, comfortable and offer physical protection. I used to oil and clean as recommended but after a year or two I kind of forget. I usually replace the insole once or twice but re-souling is a waste as the new souls aren't as comfortable. I think I've gotten 3 years out of mine. $240 is what they run out here in Southern Oregon. They really don't need much of a break in period. I think it is actually less expensive to wear these vs. multiple pairs of cheap and uncomfortable brands..I usually end up wearing them hiking and camping as I dislike wearing other shoes that are less comfortable. They are very water resistant with proper oiling and I prefer them to Gore-tex. July 3, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by So good I had to buy a second pair! I picked my first pair in February of 2014 and have basically lived in them in since then. I am working 50-80 hours a week. There is some scuffing on the toes from climbing poles, crawling in attics and crawl spaces but outside of that they are perfect. I picked up a second pair so I could rotate them, I figure since they are looking after my feet I will do my best to look after my boots. Stan in the Richardson TX store has been amazing to deal with! May 31, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Boot! I've worn these boots for two years now on the railroad out here in West Texas. Boots have held up well to the ballast, which eats soles. I do take excellent care of boots, just bought my second can of mink oil. Going to order my second pair from my local Redwing store, not because of any problems, but I need a second for rotating.
