Rated 5 out of 5 by Great boot I used this boot for over 2 years while working in the oil field as a geologist. Never got wet, and the insulation was great in North Dakota. I've used these also for miscellaneous outdoor work and they've held up great. November 4, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Comfortable dry boot in EXTREME Conditions This is an excellent choice for an extreme boot. I would give 5 stars if the sole lasted longer. I recently realized how great of a boot it was when I decided to save a little money and purchase another brand. I did this because I was unhappy with the sole of the redwing. It doesn't last for more than a year before it becomes to slick in any conditions other than dry. I work in the snow and after a year the boot becomes two sleds on your feet. I wish they made a different sole for this boot. The waterproofing quality is amazing. I have tested it out many times in extreme conditions. I have had these boots submerged in water for an hour and the inside was still dry. The next boot I will try is the 4481. they seem almost identical but they have a different sole that looks like it will still have some traction even when worn down a little. Because of the extreme conditions that I work in I believe I would make a great candidate to test boots for redwing. January 22, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Long lasting and comfortable. Got the boots in 2010 and am about to break down an get them re-soled. Mostly residential yard work, but wet everyday. Long walks every day. Outer-uppers have absolutely no damage and are still waterproof. Sole/under foot inner lining came loose after first year, but Dr.Scholl's inserts fixed that. Thinsulate lining has held up and is great for comfort and keeping warm. Other than outer sole slowly wearing after four years, no damage. December 8, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by good boot So far boot is good waterproof good i work up in Prudhoe Bay AK. and so far keeps my feet warm. The only problem is the sole no grip climbing on ladders and lugs started falling off. As far as comfort its great best boot i've had as far as comfort goes. August 20, 2014
