Rated 5 out of 5 by Electrical Contractor Approved If you work construction and care about protecting your feet and want a comfortable boot - this is it. I've worn these on high voltage projects in Yosemite National Park in the middle of winter to hot summer days in Northern California working on water treatment plants. These are my only pair of boots for any and all activities related to my line of work. They've stood up to mud, rain, snow, heat, gravel, oil, scaffolds, ladders, heavy name it. After three years of adverse conditions, it's time for another pair of these. I've stepped on dozens of roofer nails to sheet metal screws and never had any puncture through these boots. Water has never seeped through nor have I ever grounded out through my feet while dealing with energized equipment.I see guys with cheap, unsafe foot protecting and wonder, why? Spend the money for the #3506 model and feel the confidence of knowing your feet are protected. January 10, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Tough as nails I bought a pair of these 3506's along with a pair of 3535's. The king toe on both boots is a good feature. While the 3535's are good lightweight and comfortable six inch boots the 3506's are more wear resistant. Although they are heavier with the vibram sole and a stiffer work boot, they're a more durable material. Both have good tread designs. I do like the 3535's brown leather color better than the dark red leather of the 3506's on a side note. Also the scuff proof toe on the 3506's makes having to buy a toe protector on the side unnesessary, which I always buy for other boots like the 3535's. January 7, 2016
Rated 2 out of 5 by Boots wear out in a year with normal use everyday First red wing boots I have bought, paid a lot of money to have all the bells and whistles. These were bought in September of 2014 for work (HVAC) they fit real nice and were comfortable, but after 6 months the soul started to separate from the leather boot. I brought them into the local redwing store to be checked out and reconditioned. The jentlement behind the counter said that it was normal and the boot won't leak because of the liner around the footbed. He put some kind of glue on them and said that's all he could do. Then after 1 year of use the would literally separated in the front on the toe of the boot. I took them back to the store and again they put glue on it. The. He recommended to get the toe dipped in there rubber and it could solve the separation on the toe, but he said I would have to pay 32 dollars for that. Not sure why I would have to pay for a defect to be fixed since red wind is supposed to be the best boot. That's my experience, but if your a hard worker in the HVAC field I do not recommend these boots. November 25, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best Boots I've Ever Owned I'm an aircraft support equipment and diesel mechanic that works between 12 and 16 hours a day. These boots have been subjected to tons of chemicals and extreme temperatures throughout the two years I've had them and I have never had a boot last that long. Highly recommend these. Going to pick up another pair today. October 25, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Saved my son's life! We got these boots for my 23 y/o son for Christmas 2014. He had three criteria: 6" rise, waterproof, and puncture resistant soles. My husband asked around, and Red Wing kept coming up as THE brand to invest in; just before Christmas, we happened to notice a 20% off sign at our local store, so we stopped in. I'd been trying to corral the boy into going shopping with me, but strangely that wasn't how a newly-married young man seemed to want to spend his weekend - weird. This was the pair that met his criteria AND came in his size (14 wide), so we made the choice *for* him and ordered a pair. The boots thankfully arrived the day before a cold snap hit, and I rushed by the store to pick them up and take them to my son's apartment. He loved them. It was a Thursday. The following Tuesday, as I was cooking supper, I got a message from him: "Ma - I just got electrocuted." He'd felt a jolt when reaching above him, and thinking there was a live current in the upper wall or ceiling, he reached for a metal ladder - a shock went through his arm. He was *standing* on a live current in the floor, and the non-conductive boot soles (which were NOT part of his criteria!) saved him from serious injury AT LEAST, and most likely saved his life.He has ripped and mutilated the leather, but the boots are still waterproof and the soles and toe guard are still intact and doing their job. I was just looking at this site to identify the style of his boots, because we'll be getting him a new pair for Christmas this year.Thank you, Red Wing, for a healthy son, and for my grand-daughter due in January - who most likely wouldn't be on her way, if not for your boots!!"Ma". Rated 5 out of 5 by Durable but heavy I've had the 3506 model about a year and a half. They have been good so far,I have a wide foot so the king toe in 4EEEE is perfect.these have a vibram sole that's a plus! My previous pair was similar but had a two piece sole that come apart before 2 years old. I see they still make those ,I hope they improved the sole. But I'll never buy that model again! I work in the naval shipbuilding trade so the rubber coated toe is a added bonus. January 2, 2015

Rated 4 out of 5 by First real work boots I recently asked for boots at work and was given a few options from our supplier. I quickly chose these after doing some reading. I work in pools, so obviously I wanted something waterproof and these held up water wise for a few months. Going on 4 months now and they have sprung a leak in both boots. I don't know if this is normal, but I went out and bought some boot oil and now they look like new again and seem to be waterproof again.Comfort wise, these boots are awesome. It's like walking on a cloud. I prefer these over my tennis shoes even when I'm off work.I do recommend these, but I need to look into the waterproofing and figure out how long it's supposed to last.
