Rated 4 out of 5 by Hold up well and getting better but a little pricey. I am about to retire my second pair of this style. My experience is that it takes about a month of solid use to really break in but the shoe leather is durable and looks good enough for the office or the garage. The first pair had the sole come apart. The second pair wore through the back of the heel. Both pairs have lasted approximately 14 months each. I bought a pair of Irish Setter boots to replace this set but plan on buying a third pair as I like the lighter feel of an Oxford over boots.Pros: Sturdy even without steel toe inserts. Comfortable after a decent break-in period. Hasn't discolored much over time even with winter usage.Cons: Shoe laces (at least for me) do not last very long. I am on my fifth pair for this set of shoes. Insoles also seem to be premature wear item. The shoes also do not grip well on slick surfaces like wet concrete or ice. January 11, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good Value I buy only Red Wings for work. This particular pair were the last style that I bought. They are very comfortable and lasted me about a year, however cosmetically started to decline around 9 months, due to me not caring for them as I should. The only negative are the shoe strings. They consistently come untied, even when double knotting. I have to triple not the strings which is annoying and can look a bit ridiculous. January 31, 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by Awful Shoe Laces Love the shoes, they fit good and don't hurt my feet. The shoe laces are awful. They constantly come untied. Fix this! December 3, 2014
