Rated 5 out of 5 by The best These are the most comfortable pair of boots you will ever wear, hands down. I discovered these years ago and this is the only work boot I will ever put on my feet again. They are like wearing tennis shoes. The leather over the steel toe will wear off if you are crawling around on concrete but I would imagine any boot would. They are worth the money so don't pass them up especially if you are on your feet all day and you need comfort. Like my back doctor told me, your feet are the foundation for your entire body so take care of them and spend that extra money for comfortable shoes. December 1, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Durability This was my first and surely not last pair of 2238's. Not a man to ever write a review but i figured I would show my respect to these. Bought in Spring of 2013 and going into Fall of 2014 and still kicking. My line of work is a little bit of everything. Work commercial masonry construction and they hold up to walking, kicking, and cutting concrete materials 13 hours a day. The other hours of the day and weekends they slop through cow manure, work on machinery, weld, log, you name it they have been through it. Only ADVICE is to buy the tuff toe from your dealer and clean/oil your boots regularly. I'm at 1.5 years and sending them in for resoling this week. Already converted every family member to Red Wings after these boots. If you want versatility and durability buy these boots. September 1, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by best boot around i have had these boots 5 years now and I final got my first hole in them. I have worked on large loose rock ground in 120 degree las vegas temps, rain day after day after day in Oregon, and snow storms in northern California. a lot of normal 40 hour and a ton of over time hours put on these bad boys plus im 6 foot 4 and 300 lbs. I am also a pipe fitter welder. the boots hold up to sparks and slag like no other. plus they are made in the usa. this is why im buying another pair today. August 2, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Comfortable boots These boots are by far the most comfortable I have worn. The leather wore off the front of the boots in about 5 months of use. July 20, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great boots for problem feet. I have been working in a auto parts factory for 30 years and it has taken a toll on my feet. These boots are the only reason I can keep working. They fit right, and have a sturdy heel counter and nice padded collar. They accommodate my custom full length orthotics just fine. I have rocker soles put on them to help me walk easier. When they wear down I get them resoled. My first pair of these boots lasted seven years of daily wear of welding. I currently have the six inch version. With such a wide variety of sizes and widths, you ought to be able to find the right fit. My feet are narrow, and I am so glad Red Wing makes these boots! May 17, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by They Take It On And Beg For More I have worn Red Wing Boots since March 1999.The 2238 are my fourth (and third) pair in 15 years. As a MISSIONARY, I have slogged through Florida wetlands training youth; tread upon the dirt of Jamaica and Scotland constructing cinderblock buildings; stomped through the jungle of Belize clear-cutting a mission base; as a "civilian" I have strode endlessly over factory floors in Tennessee, and I have been delivering pizza in these boots for eleven months. This particular line has been my boot since 2006.Folks complain these aren't comfy.. Okay, maybe not out of the box, HOWEVER!! you put a good 100 miles worth of walking into 'em in thick socks, they either mold to your feet, or your feet mold to them.I will buy another pair of these in a heartbeat... once my current ones wear out, that is.You want a boot that'll take it all and ask for more, the 2238 is YOUR boot!! Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent Boot! I really love this boot, Got the size recommended to me from the Red Wing sales rep and they seemed a bit tight but they broke in after about a week and they have become my most comfortable and most worn boot. The only complaint I have is that the thin fabric on the insole has started to come off but with thick socks, I can't even tell. well worth the money. March 23, 2014
