Rated 5 out of 5 by Railroad Work I have worn this pair of boots for 15 years. The best pair of boots I have every worn. I wore boots all 20 years of Military and 15 years of Railroad. September 3, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Awesome I was born in Red Wing, the only other pair I own is Tony Lama, so I don't know how others are. But I can tell you, i am on my 3rd pair of lineman boots in35 yrs,I'll stick with RW!!! June 4, 2015
Rated 2 out of 5 by Not what I expected of Redwing Boots I'm on my 2nd pair of these in the last 2 years. I work as a diesel mechanic, so I'm in oil and diesel fuel a lot. Rubber soles have lasted very good w/no problems. On my first pair the leather on toes wore off after a couple of months, w/my 2nd pair I used the bumpers and haven't had any problems. My main complaint is w/my current pair, in the last month I have had 2 of the upper lace hooks have broke off. I thought Redwing Boots had better quality than that. May 14, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Boots I am a Union Millwright and work in some of the most demanding environments. These boots have held up great. They lasted three years. That is a long time for me. Most other boots only last a couple months. I would highly reccommend these to anyone. April 7, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best boots I've ever owned... Man, I gotta tell ya, Red Wing boots just can't be beat. Over the past twenty years of doing construction work, I've owned just three pair of boots, and all have been Red Wing. These boots, the 2238's, have lasted me right at ten years of daily wear. Sadly though, I'll be retiring these boots soon and I'll be getting a pair of 2412's, which are like a supercharged version of the 2238. I can't wait to see how they compare. :) February 8, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by best boots I have ever owned Actually a friend gave me this pair after I started a job requiring steel toes. He wore them for four years and I am going on two, they finally need to be retired. So I am ordering the same style and will keep ordering them, hope they keep the 2238'S forever. Thank You Red Wing January 30, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by The best These are the most comfortable pair of boots you will ever wear, hands down. I discovered these years ago and this is the only work boot I will ever put on my feet again. They are like wearing tennis shoes. The leather over the steel toe will wear off if you are crawling around on concrete but I would imagine any boot would. They are worth the money so don't pass them up especially if you are on your feet all day and you need comfort. Like my back doctor told me, your feet are the foundation for your entire body so take care of them and spend that extra money for comfortable shoes. December 1, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Durability This was my first and surely not last pair of 2238's. Not a man to ever write a review but i figured I would show my respect to these. Bought in Spring of 2013 and going into Fall of 2014 and still kicking. My line of work is a little bit of everything. Work commercial masonry construction and they hold up to walking, kicking, and cutting concrete materials 13 hours a day. The other hours of the day and weekends they slop through cow manure, work on machinery, weld, log, you name it they have been through it. Only ADVICE is to buy the tuff toe from your dealer and clean/oil your boots regularly. I'm at 1.5 years and sending them in for resoling this week. Already converted every family member to Red Wings after these boots. If you want versatility and durability buy these boots. September 1, 2014
