Rated 5 out of 5 by Great on concrete and steel. I've been wearing 2221s for several years now. My background is in welding and these boots stood up to their share of slag/spatter abuse during my time under the hood. I've transitioned into an engineering role now, still spending most days on plant floors. I haven't tried anything else which provides the same level of support and comfort for long days on concrete and steel surfaces, climbing various structures, etc. It may be something I've grown accustomed to after wearing them for a while, but in my experience the larger heel keeps my joints from aching as much at the end of the day walking/standing on hard surfaces.I will say, with the lineman treads they aren't the best in icy conditions - but, if you're line of work has you on solid surfaces these perform well wet or dry. These are fantastic boots for the conditions mentioned above, I'll definitely be buying another pair when these bite the dust. July 29, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by rugged and comfortable boots I wore the Red Wing logger boots for 20+ years and was looking for a boot which fit as well, but carried less mud and debris into customer buildings. These are just the ticket. The tread pattern is less aggresssive holding little to no debris after stomping my feet off. This boot is made on the same last as the loggers I had been wearing, which means they are as comfortable as old friends. 3 years on my current pair is a statement of the quality and in my opinion makes them well worth the price.
