Rated 5 out of 5 by Beautiful piece of American made workmanship Just received my new boots. First look and smell, the leather looks fantastic and smell of fantastic aroma of leather consumed the living room. This boot was just made, due to the fact that my size and width was not in stock. The Redwing Shoes store that I purchased it from said it would take about 3 weeks, but was delivered within 2 weeks. I have to say, this is the best logger in the market although the price is over $300. It is worth every penny. I currently have the 2218, but when using it in muddy areas, mud would cling to it too much. I purchase this boot so I can have less mud when I am in muddy areas. But I have to say, these boots looks so good, it seems guilty to wear it in muddy places. I might just hang on to this one and break it in for everyday use. Also, these boots feel very light on my feet during first time wear.Red Wing you have done a fabulous job on this logger!!!! Every person who handle my boots during manufacturing, thank you very much. I have been a Red Wing wearer for over 15 years, I should of bought this a long time ago. October 27, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great on concrete and steel. I've been wearing 2221s for several years now. My background is in welding and these boots stood up to their share of slag/spatter abuse during my time under the hood. I've transitioned into an engineering role now, still spending most days on plant floors. I haven't tried anything else which provides the same level of support and comfort for long days on concrete and steel surfaces, climbing various structures, etc. It may be something I've grown accustomed to after wearing them for a while, but in my experience the larger heel keeps my joints from aching as much at the end of the day walking/standing on hard surfaces.I will say, with the lineman treads they aren't the best in icy conditions - but, if you're line of work has you on solid surfaces these perform well wet or dry. These are fantastic boots for the conditions mentioned above, I'll definitely be buying another pair when these bite the dust. July 29, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by rugged and comfortable boots I wore the Red Wing logger boots for 20+ years and was looking for a boot which fit as well, but carried less mud and debris into customer buildings. These are just the ticket. The tread pattern is less aggresssive holding little to no debris after stomping my feet off. This boot is made on the same last as the loggers I had been wearing, which means they are as comfortable as old friends. 3 years on my current pair is a statement of the quality and in my opinion makes them well worth the price.
