Rated 5 out of 5 by Rough and Tough boots! The best boots I’ve ever had! My dad purchased these boots in the middle 70’s and after that they had been sitting in the closet for about 10 years. But this old style a little bit different from newer one. They are just 9 inch and have got no any size or width stumps on the leather, only “Red Wing 75”. When I grow up and found a job I had to find a pair of work boots and I took my dad’s Red Wings 2218. I had been working as a lineman worker for about 15 years so they saw many miles, and climbed many poles. Now I'm working in high voltage testing and engineering industry and am still wearing my most favorite pair of boots. I always take care of them, oil them once a year and a half. I had just to resole them in the late 90’s. These boots will last you forever! Thank you Red Wing! Hats off to you! August 3, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Logger boot Second logger boot that I purchase. Originally my first logger 2215, but it was quite tight on my feet. I have purchased Red Wing boots for over 10 years and I still have most of them. Due to my career change I had to purchase steel toe boots. This one is superb compare to the 2215. When I received it I notice that it did not have an insole. Called the Red Wing shoe store right away and ask them about the boot having no insole. They mentioned that the boots do not come with an insole, do not know why, but I went and bought DrScholl thin insoles and cut them. Fit like a glove. Pretty stiff at first but I know that they will break in soon if I keep wearing them. Very sturdy on my feet and recommend them to whoever is interested in purchasing any logger boot. As usual, Red Wing has offered another pair of boots that will last a long time. Now I am eyeing the 2221 logger, might get it in a few months that way I do not have to wear the same boot 2-3 days in a row. June 15, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Every Day Six years, wear them every day, resoled them once. Just ordered a second pair to break in while these still have some life in them. I treated these boots poorly and did NOT take care of them. The leather is splitting at the crease you get behind the toes, all MY fault. $300/6 years, can't complain. Feet never tired even after 12 hour days. Not too hot, not too cold, best every day boot, made in the USA! June 10, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Quality I work for a major railroad as a Signalman and spend much of my time walking on ballast. It's difficult to find a boot that is both durable and comfortable in my field of work. These boots provide both as well as great ankle support.+ The outsole is better than other boots I've owned and after 3 months they seem to be much more durable.+ Heavy leather provides excellent support.+ Even though they are not insulated, my feet have stayed plenty warm in some extreme conditions. I commonly work in the mountains of Colorado and Wyoming.+ Comfortable enough that my knees and back don't mind walking on rocks 10-12 hours a day.+ US construction! I am a Reserve soldier and this is a huge deal to me.+ Hands down the best work boot I have bought, well worth the money.Only one in the (-) column. I had to wait a week and a half to get them in from my local dealer! April 30, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best Work Boots! Finally asked for these for Christmas, best investment----period! Added the toe guards and my local store, in Albuquerque, NM, keeps them oiled regularly. Boots had a no break-in time, the soles can take a beating. The leather is outstanding and is tough! Just had a job change from heavy industrial welding to a machine shop environment, the store polished my boots like a mirror and I will look sharp on my first day!My Store: 3401 CENTRAL NE, ALBUQUERQUE, NM March 28, 2014
