Rated 4 out of 5 by Worht the cost I install cable tv and am constantly up and down ladders and crawling around in attics and crawl spaces. When I started the job I decided to go for the best brand of boots I knew of. I went into the store and was helped out right away. The salesman was very knowledgeable and friendly. I told him what the requirements were that my job had for footwear and that I personally wanted something waterproof being an Army vet and knowing how miserable having wet feet can make you. These boots have lasted me just about a year. One of the lace hooks recently broke off. The soles are starting to fall apart. The toe is worn through almost all the way through from crawling around but that was expected since there is no toe guard. Overall it was money well spent. January 5, 2016
Rated 3 out of 5 by Very comfortable boots but soles fall apart I have had three pairs of these 1206 boots, first pair water soaked right through first day I wore them, I actually took them back to the store after work and had the store owner put her hand in them, they were water logged from working in the rain on and off, not all day, I was given another new pair that day and in five months the soles had chunks coming off of them almost like the rubber was chipping away, they asked at the store if I worked in chemicals and I don't, I work outside and walk on gravel and dirt, they said walking on gravel is probably hurting the soles, well this is why I wear boots so it doesn't hurt my feet, and anyway I have been doing the same job for years and my other cheaper boots never did that. The store finally agreed to warranty them, in five months the new replacement boots were shot again and Redwing would not warranty them again. I took the boots to a shoe repair shop and she put a sole on them that lasted a year and a half. Why can't Redwing put a good sole on them? Overall its a very comfortable boot, the sides and top hold up as well as the insides but they need to revise the soles on them and do something about the water proofing especially for what they cost. I wouldn't mind so much if they were 60 dollar throw away boots but for over 200.00 I expected them to last more than five months. These have a Made in USA tag on them so it hurts my pride leaving anything but a positive review on them but have to be honest. November 23, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by They are nice but... These boots are excellent, i picked a bad job to break these boots in. It was the beginning of July and my feet were damp and hot and caused severe blisters. I would would go with what my parents told me as a kid and wear these are the yard and house to break them in. Nothing is worse than sore feet while you are at work. But it is now September and these boots are formed to my feet and feel great. Used the spray on waterproofing when i first got them and it has held up. September 5, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love these boots I've had these boots for 4 years. Working at a national cemetery at first, these boots were great for everyday use mowing, digging, working in all types of weather outside daily. No issues, holes, rips, or tears. Changing jobs I now wear them only for household chores and occasional residential electrical work. They are very comfortable and I will buy another pair when needed. June 8, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great boots I've tried many different brands and for me these are without question the best. Definitely have to break them in but once you do you basically have a custom made boot. I've bought a winter pair and a summer pair. I can wear them for 14+ hours without any issue. Extremely durable. They are heavy compared to some other brands but you get used to it quickly. I love these boots. March 8, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best work boot by far I have purchased all the top brands of boots . Redwing is the best . They are a bit stiff at first but once broken in they really hold up to just about anything. The only one for me. January 31, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Takes a Beating and Keeps on Compforting This is my sixth pair of Redwings in the last 9 years. I have strayed a few time to other brands mostly because of being easier to procure than redwings and the price difference. I learned a valuable lesson when working in the trades is that take care of what makes you money. Being on your feet all day Red Wing is the way to go. especially if you get the new semi custom fit insoles. changed to a cheaper brand I found myself with aching feet and in the podiatrist office spending my hard earn income on insoles and shots. I went back and bought my pair of redwings and my feet are back to normal. October 9, 2014
