The Sawmill

The Sawmill’s all-weather performance echoes back over 40 years to the 1970s when Red Wing’s line of Great Outdoors boots broke new ground with construction to withstand the elements. The Sawmill is inspired by this legacy of American-made footwear built for confidence in all conditions. The 6-inch boot’s moisture-wicking lining and felt wool footbed keep feet warm, and a storm welt adds water resistance. Puritan triple-stitch construction ensures lasting durability, and a Vibram® TC-4 Plus outsole provides aggressive traction. The Sawmill is finished with a deerskin collar for premium comfort.

FIT INFORMATION

A new pair of Red Wing Heritage footwear should fit comfortably tight on the foot, with enough room to freely wiggle toes. We recommend trying on footwear in store to ensure proper fit.

NO. 23 LAST

  • The no. 23 was created in the 1950s and is Red Wing’s most iconic last.
  • Includes extra room in the forefoot and instep to fit a variety of foot shapes.

Care

Nubuck / Roughout Leather Care

Cleaning Boot Illustration

1. Clean

Use the Eraser Bar from the Roughout/Nubuck Cleaner Kit on soiled area of footwear. If stain persists, wet Eraser Bar and repeat. Allow leather to dry and use the Bristle Brush to restore the leather's nap.

Condition Boot Illustration

2. Condition

Lightly apply Mink Oil to Muleskinner Leather. Mink Oil will darken leather and should only be used sparingly. Allow the leather to dry. All other Roughout and Nubuck leathers do not require conditioning.

Protect Boot Illustration

3. Protect

Lightly mist footwear with Leather Protector six to eight inches away from the leather in a sweeping motion. Leather Protector provides a shield against dirt and moisture. It will not darken footwear.
