Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Shoe! I did not need a shoe with a steel toe, but I bought this for its looks. It fits great and is a great looking shoe. Also, I got it at a great price! It is built better than almost all shoes, and I am very pleased. I purchased this pair at the Red Wing store in Humble, TX. Thanks Clint! Also, it is very comfortable. October 3, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Comfort and appearance Great shoe. Ony two areas for improvement : 1. Sides of the sole are rough and sand gets in the surface making difficult to clean quickly, and 2. Toe-caps in steel - can the shoe be made available in Kevlar/Aramid for lighter shoe for travel, air travel, etc. September 9, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Thank you for bringing them back!!! Thank you, Red Wing! Thank you, thank you, thank you for bringing them back!I have extremely wide feet. The Red Wing "H" width work boots are the ONLY commercial footwear I can wear comfortably right out of the box. While the Oxfords don't go that wide (hint hint, RedWing, you have customers waiting, and wanting) they are a true EEE rather than a loosely-stitched C. As a big guy who spends 8-10 hours per day on his feet I need sturdy footwear. The Red Wings are the only dress shoes I've ever had that lasted beyond six months. My current pair is going on eight years. When you discontinued them I almost cried. Now I can rejoice again! May 27, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Model 8701 -- The most elegant & dressy safety shoes design. I already heard of the good reputation of Red Wing Shoes being trusted by workers from the marine, oil and gas industries. So on 6th March 2015 I visited a Red Wing Shoes shop in Singapore (located at 277 Orchard Road, #04-17 Orchard Gateway shopping centre, in case you visit Singapore). When I saw this model 8701 at first sight I was impressed by its elegant and dressy design and bought it after test fitting it.I work in the office environment but visit the company 2 workshops at intervals. As a result, the office dressy design and safety features of the 8701 are perfect for my applications. Furthermore, it offers good protection for my feet when walking along the public roads. If it can be made better, I would suggest a deeper sole patterning for an even better friction on slippery surfaces.I am indeed happy that there exists such an elegant and dressy safety shoes design on the market by such a reputable safety shoes maker. Keep up the great effort. March 10, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Bartender's Shoes I bartend for a living. Before these I would go through shoes like you wouldn't believe. I get tequila, vodka, mixers etc... splash on them, scrub the floor with them and at the end of the night they still hold up and look good to go out drinking after work :) Just baby wipe them and they look just like new. If you are a bartender looking for dressy working shoes for high end bars these are the ones. They do need a break in period. May 15, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best shoe(s) I ever bought! As a worker in the aerospace manufacturing industry, I needed all the features this shoe offered (i.e. steel toe, ESD). The traditional 'wing-tip' oxford styling allowed me to wear these from the shop floor, to business meetings, to semi-formal evening functions, or performing on-stage in my band! Absolutely 100% comfortable even with an extended wear time (18+ hrs). These shoes remain fresh looking even after many years. I have 3-pairs to alternate during the week.I am glad to see them back in production again after several years. March 13, 2014
