Rated 3 out of 5 by I’m little disappointed I purchase these boots, at the beginning of this year(2014) at a Red Wing store. I work offshore as a Safety Advisor, 14 days working and 14 days off, my day consist of walking on hard decking and grating talking to individuals and making sure all are working safe. So after wearing this boots for 5 months I notice that they are making noise around the heal area, I’m little disappointed that they are doing this. I purchase a $50.00 pair of boots at Academy and they lasted 3 yrs., so i though i would purchase a Name brand boot and now I’m experiencing this problem. Not happy, will have to go back to Academy and get a cheaper pair of boots that will last 3 times longer. November 1, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Very Comfortable Work Boots I spent a great deal of time trying on practically every model of work boot in the store before finally settling on these for their comfort. They have aluminum safety toes that qualify them for industrial work while having the sort of appearance and comfort you can use for many home uses. The only downsides I can think of is that 1) they are "not waterproof", but this is only in the strictest sense; meaning that the tongue at the very top is connected with elastic material and not waterproof seal. These are pefectly waterproof unless you step in a puddle that goes up to your ankle. I applied bee wax sealant to mine and they work great. 2) I don't like that they're made in China. and 3) They have an adequate heel for climbing ladders, but not as defined as some as the more traditional heavier boots. Those things aside, these are very comfortable and get me through long shifts where I'm on my feet for long periods of time in wet and slippery conditions. October 20, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by Only good for less than 8 months I purchased two pair of these boots since they were comfortable and easy to break in. I wear them 8 to 12 hours a day 6 days a week and both pairs failed in the same amount of time. The laces don't last more than 5 months and just as the others mentioned the lacing in the heals tear out leaving your heels exposed. If they could get better lacing in the heels I would be willing to purchase another pair. At this point I'm going to have to give up on red wing shoes. I'm sure if they were made in America the quality would be better. Avoid these boots.... September 29, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Stitching came apart This is my second pair of Redwing workboots. I chose these after the recommendation of a work associate. Should of did my research instead. I've had these since October 2013; 11 months. My last pair lasted 4 years of hard use. But they we're well maintained and cared for. The same for these current ones. Out of the box they are extremely comfortable with minimal break in period. The stitching should have been a no go at first sight being that seemed rather thin and exposed in areas that could rub up against something sharp, which could cause serious ware. I'm very disappointed in this pair and hopefully can get these replaced. September 10, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by Extremely comfortable, but..... Returned these boots yesterday, after wearing 5 days a week for four and a half months. The stitches around each heel came undone. The sales person wanted to have them repaired, I requested, under the terms of the warranty, to get a full refund & get a pair assembled in the U.S. August 10, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Owned them for one year I ride motorcycles everyday wearing these. I have a desk job, wear them 7 days a week. I have noticed no problems with mine. They are very comfortable. That's my two cents! April 23, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Wow, I guess I should've done more research before buying... I've been wearing Redwing boots since the late 90's and have always been pleased with the performance, comfort, and durability...but these boots are simply awful. I've only been wearing them for about 7 months as a QC inspector (basically all I do is walk around and watch other folks work) and they're already coming apart at the seams. Pitiful. I'm going to box mine up and take them back to my local store to see what they can do for me. April 13, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by Fell apart sooner than expected. I also bought a pair of these mid 2013. So I have had them longer than the other reviewer. But they are coming apart at the front. They are comfortable. But I have had $60 boots from Fred Meyer outlast these and in worse conditions. Used to be a tradesman on construction sites all day. These boots only saw a couple months at Boeing and some light work around the yard. I very much hope they will honor some sort of warranty. I really thought Red Wing was known for quality.
