Rated 2 out of 5 by chuck2 Let me down when I needed them the most The soles are extremely tough, but the construction lacks. Within two weeks I had to bring them back for 3 individual stiching repairs. Like I said the soles are extremely tough, but they don't grip at ALL in the snow or ice. With that, 3 months after I bought them the waterproofing failed within 2 or three minutes of being wet, even though red wing guarantees an hour of waterproofing. They don't really breathe and my feet are usually sweating and soaked even if it's cold like it has been all week. I was happy with the store in Aurora though, I had an issue with the steel toe rubbing my knuckle on my toe and they played with the insole a little bit to get the problem to go away.Overall though, I probably won't buy these boots again. Better off buying an American made boot. January 1, 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by TTTT Losing respect for Redwing quality I purchased this pair of boots for my foreman's, birthday which is today. I bought them on Sunday and gave them to him Sunday night. He wore them to work on Monday. At 8:18 the sole ripped completely off. What a birthday present huh? Good thing for a quality product like gorilla tape or else this work day would have ended before it started. Wish I could post a picture to show the shiny new shoes that he was proud of and afraid to get dirty - with a sole flopping down, hanging on by the toe (5.2m). I am one who sticks with something when I find quality. I am having serious doubts that Redwing can consistently provide that quality, especially at $2-400 a pop. Not to mention the last time I was in there buying new shoes for me they gave me socks to measure my feet, then charged me $10 for them. It all adds up to a reputation. September 15, 2014
