Rated 3 out of 5 by Broken in fairly well, but issues after doing so. I purchased these boots last year since I do alot of work on barges and shore tanks. I do alot of climbing as well. After the first few months during the winter I had no issues at all. But once the summer months came around, The toe started to rub raw my second toe from the outside on my left foot, I Used a custom insole from Red Wing for while but I since had to discard it since it was worn out. The outside material on the boot hasnt worn or frayed. It's very tough for the work i do. Unfortunately I have since switched to an older pair of Red Wings I still have that were the same size and have worked wonderfully. My best advice is to wear them as much as you can in the first 14 days after purchase to make sure your feet can handle these. I thought after the 14 days they would be fine. 5 months later my feet hurt from them. But everyone is different. I'd recommend The older 2280 model Red Wings. July 15, 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by worst boot ever they leaked within 2 months. the rubber toe guard peeled off and the seam on the toe yea it ripped. not worth the money. I would expect more from a pair of red wings. im a industrial construction worker so I need good boots these are junk. February 23, 2015

Rated 3 out of 5 by Disappointed In The Quality (Made In China) I have always had great luck with Red Wing boots (Made In USA). The made in China versions are less quality footwear. I will only buy American for here on out. I work for the railroad and I torture my boots. October 12, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by brst outdoor work boots I had many different pairs of boot but the Red Wing boot I have now don't compare to any pair of boots that I ever bought these are countable dorable in which are hard to kill how use for about 2 months now and I can't say nothing but good things about Red Wing boots I wouldn't go out and buy these again and again Red Wing are the best boots money can buy I recommend knees to anybody else out there in the world in field that need boots September 18, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Great boots, sole didn't hold up 8 months These boots are great for all day comfort, but didn't hold up 8 months. The boots themselves are in ok condition for the amount of wear but the sole is starting to fall off. August 31, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Well worth the money!!! I had some bad experiences with Redwing boots years ago and went elsewhere for many years. Well...with the problems with sore feet, sore back, tired legs, and just not happy with the "Other guys", I had to eat crow and listen to my wife when she said, "Just go try on some of the new Redwings and see how the feel". I tried on at least 20 different pairs of boots before that night and ended up in a Redwing store. The very second I put the 409's on my feet, #with a set of molded inserts#, I thought I had on a pair of bedroom slippers! WOW!!! I put several coats of boot oil on them before wearing them to work, but now I can't quit bragging them up! Working in a place that varies from -40 degrees to 140 degree buildings, concrete, steel, sparks, welding, chemicals, and of course water, these boots haven't let me down yet! Now I actually look forward to kicking my tennis shoes off to put these guys on everyday. August 10, 2014
