Rated 5 out of 5 by Great shoes Been wearing these for 20 years and on only my third pair. Redwing makes great shoes. Think I'll go a half size bigger this time so I can put a cushion insole in them. Best shoes made in my opinion. September 12, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Consistent and exceptional support and comfort 2245's have been helping me put food on my family's table for a decade. I've purchased at least 10 pairs of them. I work in a Urea fertilizer plant that is very tough on boots. The boots usually last 1 year in the wet, slimy, and crusty environment in which I work. Leather and Urea don't mix well but with proper maintenance this boot holds up well. I'm a heavy fellow, with slightly arched feet and these boots support my feet day in and day out. I can work a 12 hour shift and not have sore ankles or arches, even with my body weight. My workplace is a hot environment in the Ohio summers and with minimal lining the boots provide the perfect vehicle for my sweaty feet. On the other hand in the winter, appropriate socks work just fine to weather the cold weather and snow. I also recommend these boots because they are 100% USA union made with USA materials. This is the best all around boot Red Wing makes, hands down. September 10, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Model 2245 work boot This has been my workboot for over 25 years. Have owned a few pairs. Seems like the older ones had more of a reddish color. I feel it is the best general purpose steel toed work boot made. As a mechanic with a career from diesel bus to the railroad, it has always been my first choice. USA Pride and legendary quality. Rated 5 out of 5 by Getting my third pair Been wearing this model for 11 years.. My current pair has lasted 5+ years with a little extra care. I work outdoors year round and wear Tingly rubber over shoes to keep my Red Wings dry when the ground is wet. In 5 years I've replaced the heel once and a few years later replaced the entire sole.Once broken it, I can wear them for an 18 hour shift and they still feel great. I can't wear boots with any lining as they make my feet sweat. These boots are made of just leather and they breathe quite well. I wear a 10 D and the fit is good. Have never even noticed the steel toe, but it's there. Love 'em. I don't even try other boots anymore. Getting ready to buy my third pair. Will be very disappointed if they ever discontinue them. Well made in the USA! April 9, 2014
