Rated 5 out of 5 by Third pair My previous pair was just getting too worn down. I had used them for nearly six years and had the soles replaced twice. This boot is fantastic and gets better with age. Excellently made in the USA. My only complaint would be that the soles wear down pretty quick considering the rest of the boot seems to last forever. A harder compound sole might possibly solve that problem. Anyway, I cannot recommend these boots enough. AWESOME! July 22, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Landscaper approved! I'm into my 6th pair of 2233's. I've been landscaping since 1993; my coworkers buy 2-3 pairs of no name or Walmart boots each year. My 13d's last me 2 years, that's around 6x longer than their boots. I pay nearly $200 every two years, they spend $60-$80 twice a year ...you do the math. July 2, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by A True Classic! Timeless design, thoroughly comfortable, and rugged...in short: the John Wayne of boots! They cinch up rather nicely, the steel shank (getting harder and harder to still find) provides ample support for heavy guys like myself, while the sole tackles nearly every terrain with panache. My only real criticism is the width; these definitely run about one full size narrow, so if you are a true double 'EE' for example, I would recommend sizing up one full size to a triple 'EEE'. Other than that, this boot is simply an outstanding example of what Red Wing boots does right. May 4, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great pair of boots This is my first pair of these 2233 boots. I had many different models of Red Wing boots. I wanted to get a pair of ole school brown boots. The only gripe I have is that when I lace them the eyelets of the boots are touching, which results in longer laces at the top. I like my boots to have about 1 1/2 to 2/inch between the eyelets making my feet conform to the leather of the boots. I still like the boots, the feel of it and it broke in very easily. Rated 5 out of 5 by Great work boot Just bought my 3rd pair of this boot. The workmanship is great and they will last for years on the concrete floors of mills. March 4, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by 2233 Boots These boots are very comfortable and well built.. I have had multiple pair which have lasted for many years. My son still wears a pair I gave him 14 years ago. He has replaced the sole and they were as good as new. I have worn them on the farm outside in heat and cold weather. I have also worn them in a mechanic shop environment in oil and grease. In both situations the footing and wear was excellent. There is also an insulated version that I have worn in the winter. (I think it is the 4410)I have recommended Red Wing to my son-in-law and he loves them. January 23, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by They last! I work in many different environments, from working around 400 degree asphalt to concrete bridges and rebar, as well as on the farm in manure, mud, and grease. Most other boots, even some other styles of red wings, don't last even 4 months. Each of the 3 pairs I've had of this style has lasted me for a minimum of 4 years, with my current pair being older. (An added bonus is that this is one of the few boots out there that fit my 13EEE feet.)The only reason for replacement has been uneven heel wear. (My fault, not the boots') These boots last. Period. Please, Red Wing, keep making these. November 26, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by sailor I've bought these boots since 1991 when they were abt $90. Being a merchant sailor (container ships and tankers), I put these boots through heck and back. Hot, cold, salt water, oil, degreasers, paint, chipped rust(a favorite sailor pastime), etc, etc. I also spent a few years driving concrete mixers. Wet concrete, cement powder, dirt/mud, water, etc. These boots hold up reasonably well to massive abuse. My ONLY complaint is that the lugs/stubs(?) on the sole tend to fall apart. Maybe it's the steel grate steps. They fit great right out of the box and I actually prefer these to tennis shoes when on the ship, especially when I'm working 12-15 hrs/day. I wear a 14B and am 6'2" and 235lbs. November 19, 2014
