Rated 5 out of 5 by Best pair of boots I have ever owned I have been wearing Redwing boots for over 25 years and this is the most comfortable, longest lasting pair I have owned. I have owned the same pair since 2002. I mostly wear them for motorcycle riding but have used them for work as well. I am an electrical foreman and do a lot of walking on jobsites and climbing ladders. I would say I have about 6 years of use on them. I took them back to Redwing to be resoled in 2010. when I got them back they looked brand new. If these boots are now available only by custom order then take my advice and get a pair. You will not be disappointed. October 11, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best shoe I have ever owned! I have had 3 pairs of these boots over the past 12+ years. I do heating and A/C work, they do great in any environment, cold , hot, mud, concrete, dry or especially wet, gore-tex cannot be beat, never had a wet sock in all those years, even with holes in the toes and soles! Wish they were a little less expensive, but they must be worth it as I am getting ready to purchase my 4th pair October 10, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by great for work and riding home I used these boots for over 2 years on a ship. As well as my primary boots for riding my motorcycles. The fit is awsome with the 5 year insoles, which I wore through in one deployment. The break in was non existent. They also servived a 45mph spill on blacktop when I was riding last summer. Only downside is they get hot when working in the middle of sumer +90 f. February 7, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by long lasting Great boots. I have had the same pair for over three years. I am a CATV lineman. Good for climbing ladders, working on the ground or up in a bucket. Toe is flexible for squatting. January 25, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best boot ever my redwing store said this boot was discontinued WHY? black shoe polish protects boots better than any other garbage out there and looks great shined up even with a suit November 1, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great work boot. I use these boots for work. They are comfortable for the job at hand. I drive a Tow Truck and these boots are the right fit for the job, especially while working in wet weather and cold. They are sturdy and well constructed. The only complaint I would have about this particular model is, they do not make them with a side zipper for a much better on/off feature. All-n-all, money well spent. October 21, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great boots Over the last 10 years I have bought and worn out 6 pairs of these boots. When they are worn down I send them to be resoled. My only complaint is that in later years the soles wear out much faster than previously. I wear these 10 hours a day and find them to be superb. July 28, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by These boots are lightweight, comfortable fitting, and warm I purchased these boots and the 1206 boots primarily for dog walking in wet, snowy, muddy areas. We walk about 2 miles/day or 730 miles/year. These boots fit very well, are very comfortable and warm. Even though they are 8" boots, they feel lighter in weight compared to my Red Wing 1206 boots. In addition, compared to the 1206 model the 1426 model seems to have a more flexible and gripping sole which allows me to get a better feeling for the ground I am walking over. In wet and slippery conditions I choose this boot over the model 1206 as I feel it gives me a little more control to prevent slipping. In dry conditions, both boot models work very well.
