Rated 5 out of 5 by RoadRecycle4U Bought mine a little over 3 years ago. Still using them today. I use mine for work 40-50 hours a week for about 3 years now. The plastic that wraps around the metal lace has peeled back over the years, but that has not affected tying and untying the boots. I just had to remove the plastic and leave the metal wire out in the open. I've had the fear the metal lace would start to fall apart because of it, but it's still working fine, I've been using it like that for about a year now. Around the 3rd year the back of the boot from where the heel makes contact started to wear out, and i ended up with a hole in the back of the boot. Brought it to Red Wings and they repaired my boots free of charge. It took about a week to have that repaired, but they did a fantastic job. Still wearing the boots today and they're rocking. I highly recommend getting the waterproof leather conditioner they sell to insure your boots last a long time. I condition mine about every 2-3 months. November 18, 2015
Rated 2 out of 5 by DRay ok boots These boots were great for the first 6 months then the BOA laces broke. They are very comfortable like most Redwing are but I am not sold on the lacing system. I have replaced three broken laces, it isn't a big deal except the plastic guides are worn thru so the whole boot needs to be replaced. O well they did good for a year and a half. I recommend Redwing but just not this boot. October 28, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Don69 Had these for 4 years and they're still working I've been in the oilfields for 41 years and done everything from Roustabout, Gang Pusher, Crane Operator, Production Operator, I & E, and Supervisor. I've never really been a lace up boot guy, they were always a pain to tie and come untied but I always liked the way they fit. Regardless, I wore slip-ons for years and I found out early on that there's a lot of things that you can scrimp on but work boots wasn't one of them. When I first saw these about 4 years ago while I was boot shopping, I saw the cable / ratchet system and I thought I'd try them on for fit. Well, they felt great and the racheting system let me snug them up in a second if need a more secure fit. Not only that but they felt GREAT on my feet, very comfortable! So I bought them knowing that they had a lifetime warranty on the cables / ratchets, I figured I couldn't go wrong. Well it's been 4 years and I wear them almost every day working, hunting, all sorts of things and they still feel as good today as the day I bought them. There are not a lot of things that you can say are worth the investment but this is one of the true exceptions. I highly recommend that you give them a try, you won't be disappointed. April 1, 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by Plumberman The most uncomfortable boots I've ever worn These boots are extremely uncomfortable. I've worn work boots all my life and I don't think I've ever worn a pair that hurt my feet like these. I'll be returning them and going back to my redwing hikers. Those are comfortable! I think due to overseas production the quality isn't what it used to be. March 20, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by houdini at last! after many mistakes and beaucoup dollars spent, i finally took the advise of my nephew who works in the oilfield industry. he's been telling me for years that this is the best workboot he's ever had. light for a hardtoe boot and comfortable to no end. i'm not one to try to make my shoes last the rest of my life but it seems these might do it.the redwing arch support insoles sealed the deal. my feet are hard to fit but my dealer took the time to satisfy me. looks like you can teach an old dog new tricks! by BigB777 Outstanding Boots These boots are great! The BOA system is great. My boots loosen as they warm up during the day and the BOA system allows me to just turn the wheel and tighten them up a couple of clicks without having to untie and tighten any laces. They snap open at the end of the day and are off. Waterproofing is excellent but I am pretty good about oiling them. I don't like new buck but that's ok as I just oiled it and they are like regular leather. I have been wearing them every work day for over 2 years and they are holding up really well.Regarding the BOA system - it is guaranteed for life. The laces and mechanism are very strong and last a long time but they do wear down with age and exposure to job site dirt and abuse. But you can get replacement parts for free from your Red Wing dealer or the BOA site online. They are easy to replace and satisfying when rebuilt. I have rebuilt mine three times - never had a lace break just wanted to tune them up.I really like the BOA system and doubt I'll have a regular pair of lace up boots again. I would like to see Red Wing make more boots with this system.
