Rated 3 out of 5 by Good boot, weak sole. I don't know how people can say their boots last over a year - ten plus years, really! I purchased my current pair of 1155's in February 2015 and they need a resole 10 months later. I have worn a hole through both soles under the ball of each foot. The leather has held up being that I religiously clean and oil it twice a month. I'm a field technician in sub-tropical South Texas working in the citrus industry. It's hot and humid most of the year. I work about 40% in a greenhouse and about 60% outdoors in comercial citrus orchards and residential areas as well. The boots keep the water and mud out when field conditions are bad. I've been in ankle deep water as well and my feet still stay dry. But the sole is the week point. If you have to be constantly moving, the sole will wear out fast. November 15, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by The Best Boot Ever I'm a Boilermaker and I've always worn Pecos boots. Other than just plain wearing them out, I doubt there is a work environment harsh enough to destroy these boots. I've welded inside boilers, outside on water towers, oil storage tanks in mud and smoke stack liners and never has a glob of molten metal or slag burn through. I don't always have time to take care of them as I should but they don't let me down. My youngest son does the same type of work but he buys cheaper boots because he won't spend the money for quality. He doesn't seem to mind paying for three or four pair of the cheaper boots to my one pair. Ah well, maybe he'll learn in time. As long as Red Wing continues to make the Pecos boot, they will have a loyal customer in me. October 5, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Worth every cent I have wore this style of boot for over twenty years and cannot say enough about it. You get what you pay for. I have tried other boot brands over the years but always come back to this one July 7, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best boot ever made I been wearing this boot since 1988. Never had this boot let me down or had wet feet. I was a farmer, worked in a saw mill drove trucks, never been disappointed. They fit like a real boot should, not like a sponge on your foot. I will wear one pair to work and another to Sunday go to meeting. I get about 5 to 6 years wear. I have put them through mud, snow, chemicals, diesel, sand. Just all around great boot. April 22, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Worn since the 1970's My father purchased these boots in the late 70's when he was still living and working on the farm... He gave them to me in 2006 when I was in high school. They were about 28 yrs old at the time. The boots don't get worn every day like some of y'all's, but they have lasted around 36 years without a single resole. I've spent many weekend working around our property with these boots and they still have plenty of life left in them... I love them, they are irreplaceable. Buy these boots, take care of them, and one day maybe you can pass them on to another generation of hard working Americans. March 25, 2015

Rated 5 out of 5 by Best boots to be had... My first pair lasted forever and are probably on someone's foot today....Indestructible and comfort even used as hiking and running bootCountry hooligansOriginalMade in USA January 11, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best Boot I've Ever Owned I've been wearing red wing boots for 10 years now. I used to wear the 608 style and would 12- 18 months out of a pair and they are a great boot but I wanted to get back to a slip on which is what I used to where as a kid and up through high school. I work construction and farm so I am pretty hard on boots especially soles. I go through soles fast on concrete. My dad wore these 1155s for years and swears by them so I thought I would give them a try. Best footwear decision I have ever made! I am almost 2 years into these boots and looks like I'll get at least another six months out of them. I wear these everyday of the week from long days on the job to long weekends on the farm and even long nights out partying it up. I have never had a sole hold up as good as these do everyday on concrete. Mud, gravel you name it. I have never oiled or really taken care of these boots like I should. Imagine how long they would last if I did. Break in is easy, about a week. Most comfortable and durable boot I've ever owned and nice western styling too. Please don't stop making these Redwings!!
